Role: Backend Engineer

As a Backend Engineer at Haptik, you will be responsible for designing, developing, and scaling backend systems that power our AI platform used by millions globally. You will work on system architecture, API integrations, and performance optimizations while collaborating cross-functionally with product and engineering teams.

Key Responsibilities:

• Develop and maintain scalable backend systems and APIs.
• Implement best coding practices and high-performance architecture.
• Work closely with teams to integrate APIs and backend solutions.
• Break down complex projects into actionable tasks.
• Design and optimize database architecture for scalability.
• Build Proof of Concepts (POCs) with product teams.
• Generate reports and insights for data-driven decisions.
• Participate in code reviews, testing, and QA processes.
• Stay updated with emerging technology trends and software best practices.
• Communicate effectively within teams and stakeholders.

Requirements:

• 4+ years of experience in backend development.
• Bachelor's degree in Computer Engineering or related field.
• Proficiency in Python with expertise in at least one backend framework (preferably Django).
• Experience with database technologies like MySQL, MongoDB, Elasticsearch.
• Knowledge of in-memory data stores like Redis or Memcached.
• Familiarity with agile environments and tools like Jira.
• Proficiency in version control (Git).
• Strong communication and teamwork skills.
• Additional experience with RabbitMQ, AWS/Azure, Docker, MQTT, Lambda functions, Kibana, and Nginx is a plus.
