Overview
AI Engineer at Roche Information Solutions (RIS) to design, build, and optimize production-ready AI, Generative AI, and multi-agent systems for healthcare contexts.
What you'll do
- Design and optimize production AI/ML systems, including NLP and single/multi-agent workflows.
- Build and maintain retrieval-augmented generation (RAG) pipelines for ingestion, chunking, embeddings, indexing, and grounded response generation.
- Implement agent capabilities such as routing, intent classification, planning, tool use, state/memory management, error handling, and HITL escalation.
- Develop prompt and context strategies to improve output quality, relevance, and safety adherence.
- Implement LLM observability and tracing (e.g., prompt/context/tool/model monitoring, errors, latency, and token/cost tracking).
- Set up secure, scalable AI system deployment with automated CI/CD for AI applications.
What you'll need
- 5–8 years of experience in ML/NLP, applied AI, data engineering, or related technical fields.
- At least 2–3 years of hands-on experience developing Generative AI or LLM-based solutions.
- Practical experience with NLP, transformer-based models, and LLM development using PyTorch, TensorFlow, or Hugging Face Transformers.
- Hands-on experience with agent-orchestration frameworks such as LangChain/LangGraph/LlamaIndex/CrewAI.
- Experience with vector databases and vector search (Pinecone, Chroma, or PostgreSQL with pgvector).
- Strong proficiency in Python and SQL, including data preparation and transformation for model workflows.
- Experience deploying and operating production AI/ML and Generative AI on AWS or another major cloud platform.
Nice to have
- Experience working within the Healthcare Laboratory (IVD) domain.

- Must handle sensitive healthcare data aligned with HIPAA and GDPR and related privacy/governance requirements.
- Responsibilities include security-by-design and privacy-by-design (e.g., least-privilege access, encryption, secrets management, audit logging, data minimization).
