Associate Sales Engineer, SE Desk - Northeast

Overview

Sales Engineer (SE) responsible for bringing Samsara’s connected operations technology to customers through technical discovery, demos, and API-enabled solutions.

What you'll do

• Drive daily customer engagements around logistics/supply chain, fleet maintenance, asset management, machine control/diagnostics, system integration, and regulatory compliance.
• Develop expertise in IoT hardware and sensors, installation/deployment scenarios, carrier networks, cloud infrastructure, and third-party integrations via the open API.
• Conduct quick and efficient discovery to understand customer needs and answer technical questions in a single call.
• Provide demo and temporary technical expertise across the Sales Team.
• Explain device installation concepts to prospects over the phone.
• Educate customers on technical aspects of APIs and deploy scripts leveraging the Samsara API to a testing environment on demand.
• Act as a liaison between product and sales, translating technical feedback and enrolling customers in beta programs.

What you'll need

• BS in Electrical Engineering, Computer Science, Mechanical Engineering, Industrial Engineering, or related discipline.
• Preferred 1+ years experience working with customers in a pre-sales or support capacity.
• Ability to explain complex technical concepts to non-technical audiences.
• Basic understanding of electronics and electrical systems.
• Experience in one of: cloud software, networking, automation and control systems.
• Tinkering with hardware gadgets, sensors, or vehicles is a plus.

• Remote position for candidates residing in the Northeast region within the US with listed exclusions.
