Assurance Sr Associate - TMT

Overview

Assurance Sr Associate in the TMT (Technology, Media and Telecommunications) industry, performing audit work for middle-market clients under the RSM audit approach.

What you'll do

• Understand clients' needs and expectations, their business and industry, accounting and control systems, employees, company values and industry-related IFRS or GAAP and GAAS issues
• Develop and demonstrate an understanding of the RSM audit approach, methodology and tools
• Perform audit procedures and tests in accordance with the RSM audit methodology based on the overall audit plan, ensuring proper documentation of work performed
• Identify areas of risk and accounting and auditing issues; discuss with engagement teams to solve issues that arise
• Research technical accounting issues
• Develop industry expertise
• Prepare audit reports and management letters
• Exercise professional skepticism, judgment and adhere to the code of ethics while on engagements
• Ensure documentation is compliant with quality standards of the firm
• Work collaboratively as part of the team and communicate effectively with RSM audit professionals
• Provide supervision and development training for associates
• Take ownership of assigned tasks and deliverables to ensure service excellence through prompt responses to internal and external clients
• Provide timely, high quality client service that meets or exceeds client expectations, including coordinating the development and execution of the audit work plan and client deliverables
• Ensure professional development through ongoing education
• Participate in a range of projects and collaborate with multiple teams; demonstrate critical thinking, problem solving, initiative and timely completion of work

What you'll need

• Bachelor's in Commerce
• Qualified Chartered Accountant, ACCA or CPA, or non-qualified with 3+ years of relevant experience
• CA qualified + 1 year of relevant experience, or ACCA/CPA qualified + 2 years of relevant experience
• Strong technical skills in accounting including IFRS or GAAP and GAAS
• Strong multi-tasking and project management skills
• Excellent verbal and written communication in English, as the position requires frequent communications with RSM International clients and United States based engagement teams

Nice to have

• Experience in the TMT industry
• Strong data analytical skills, including advanced Excel skills (VLOOKUPs, pivot tables, basic formulas), Word and PowerPoint
