Athlete Marketing Manager

Overview

Build and lead Red Bull Japan’s athlete marketing strategy for priority sports, managing athlete portfolios from recruitment to long-term partnerships. Plan and deliver athlete-focused projects and coordinate cross-functional execution across marketing and integrations.

What you'll do

• Develop and execute Red Bull Japan’s athlete marketing strategy across skateboarding, snowboarding, surfing, and biking.
• Oversee athlete recruitment, annual objective setting, contract negotiations, renewals, performance reviews, and long-term partnership planning.
• Create individualized development plans covering performance, communications, personal branding, content creation, commercial obligations, and career development.
• Lead athlete-focused marketing initiatives from concept development through execution and evaluation.
• Coordinate athlete integrations across campaigns, product launches, events, content production, and media opportunities while managing operations and budgets.
• Collaborate with internal teams including Marketing, Brand, Media Network, Communications, Sales, Legal, Finance, Procurement, and global Sports Marketing.
• Educate athletes and ambassadors on product benefits and usage occasions to support product integration and advocacy.

What you'll need

• 3-5+ years of experience in sports marketing, athlete management, sponsorship, brand marketing, sports agencies, or related fields.
• Proven experience managing relationships with athletes, agents, managers, sports properties, federations, agencies, or industry partners.
• Experience leading marketing projects/activations, sponsorship programs, or athlete partnerships from concept through execution.
• Strong understanding of the Japanese sports landscape and athlete ecosystem.
• Ability to manage projects and budgets.
• Excellent stakeholder management and communication skills.
