Business Intelligence Engineer

Overview

Sr Business Intelligence Engineer to build and optimize the company’s BI ecosystem, including analytics architecture, data models, and governed reporting.

What you'll do

• Lead execution and refinement of BI and analytics architecture across dashboards and self-service tools.
• Design and implement semantic and dimensional data models for operational, clinical, and strategic analytics.
• Collaborate with platform, analytics, and product teams on shared data definitions and source-of-truth datasets.
• Improve data pipeline efficiency using dbt modeling best practices for testing and documentation.
• Administer Tableau Cloud as the primary SME, including user management, security, tuning, and environment configuration.
• Embed Tableau dashboards into front-end web applications using Tableau APIs and optimize performance bottlenecks.
• Mentor junior engineers and analysts through technical guidance and design reviews.

What you'll need

• 3+ years of professional experience in business intelligence, analytics engineering, or data engineering.
• Expert-level SQL proficiency.
• Hands-on experience with dbt or similar modern BI/analytics engineering frameworks.
• Extensive healthcare data domain experience (e.g., claims, members, providers, eligibility, authorizations, utilization management).
• Deep expertise in Tableau Cloud/Desktop/Prep, including Tableau APIs, embedding, row-level security, performance optimization, and administration.
• Proven experience designing scalable data models for enterprise reporting and ad hoc analysis.
• Experience with Airflow workflow orchestration and AWS-based data platforms.
