Category Specialist

Overview

Support regional and global sourcing initiatives for an assigned category or group of categories, optimizing cost, quality, delivery and reliability of suppliers and supplied products for the IEC Low Voltage Division Motion business.

What you'll do

• Develop, plan and implement SCM strategy for an assigned category or group of categories, in accordance with Company and Supply Base Management instructions and procedures.
• Leverage the Continuous Improvement Process Sourcing (CIPS) process to implement effective sourcing strategies aligned with business strategy, ensuring suppliers have the capability and capacity to meet current and future requirements.
• Negotiate agreements with main suppliers and periodically renew price lists, terms and conditions to achieve optimum pricing.
• Adapt the corporate contractual framework to local business needs, recommend frame agreements to management and execute upon approval.
• Provide ongoing oversight and contract management with suppliers.
• Identify, investigate and select appropriate suppliers, focusing on quality, delivery, cost and sustainability, in accordance with company policies.
• Define and establish local standard agreements with all major suppliers.
• Be responsible for supplier on-boarding, supplier qualification, supplier classification and supplier performance evaluation, including tool management.
• Apply and implement SCM standards, tools and processes focused on business continuity for the assigned commodity or group of commodities (Supplier Risk Management).
• Contribute to setting and implementing budget and targets within the framework.
• Ensure Category sourcing performance targets are achieved (Cost Reduction, Cash Improvement, Quality PPM, Supplier OTD etc.).
• Ensure integrity and compliance with ABB values and ethics in all activities.

What you'll need

• 10 to 15 years of experience in supply chain management/sourcing.
• Full time Diploma/Engineering in Mechanical field with experience in SAP.
• Strategic sourcing skill.
• Sound knowledge of commodities working in mechanical products and New Product Development activity.
• Good at negotiation, new vendor development and SCM policy implementation.
• Collaboration with Global Commodity SCM Team.
• Focus on cost reduction of product.
