Overview
Lead cloud architecture and migration for enterprise clients as the key technical link between Kyndryl and the client, from early design through implementation, with a focus on GCP and secondarily AWS.
What you'll do
- Lead architecture workshops and design scalable GCP cloud solutions, including workload migration strategies from on-premises data centers to the cloud.
- Build and deliver automated infrastructure, platform deployments, and configuration workflows using tools like Terraform, Ansible, Deployment Manager, and GitOps.
- Design and set up secure, automated CI/CD pipelines leveraging both GCP native services (Cloud Build) and traditional DevOps tools (Jenkins, GitHub Actions, Argo, SonarQube).
- Perform periodic architecture reviews to enhance application performance, drive cost optimization, and build internal utilities for safer, high-speed engineering operations.
- Document technical frameworks and architecture workflows while implementing robust monitoring, SRE practices, and configuration management (e.g., Anthos, GCVE).
What you'll need
- Hands-on experience designing multi-tier, fault-tolerant, cloud-native enterprise applications, primarily using GCP and secondarily AWS.
- Solid understanding of systems, storage, security, and networking across both traditional data center environments and public cloud (IaaS/PaaS).
- Experience automating infrastructure and configurations using tools like Terraform, Ansible, Chef, Puppet, and GitHub.
- Expertise building re-usable release pipelines in Jenkins or AWS CodePipeline, paired with strong scripting skills (Python, Shell/Bash, PowerShell, YAML).
- Hands-on mastery of both Linux and Windows environments, including database and application interoperability.
- Required certifications: GCP Professional Cloud Architect; Professional Cloud Security Engineer; Cloud Developer / DevOps Engineer; Terraform, Puppet, Chef, Ansible, Jenkins etc.
Nice to have
- Experience leading DevSecOps/SRE projects, setting up GitOps workflows, and designing robust CI/CD pipelines integrating tools like Jenkins, GitHub Actions, Argo, and ELK.
- Deep expertise in delivering immutable infrastructure-as-code and automating platform deployments using Terraform, CloudFormation, Anthos Config Management, and GCVE.
- Track record of leading technical workshops with enterprise clients to architect advanced AWS solutions and design migration strategies from data centers to the cloud.
- Proven ability to perform periodic architecture reviews to enhance application performance, drive cost optimization, and thoroughly document technical frameworks.
- Collaborative skills in building utility tools and scripts (such as Chef cookbooks) that enable engineering teams to operate safely at high speed and wide scale.
- Own the full cloud migration lifecycle across multiple waves, from discovery, assessment, and dependency mapping to runbooks, execution governance, and final cutover.
- Lead the architecture of secure GCP landing zones, designing core infrastructure frameworks including networking, identity, security, logging, monitoring, and shared services.
- Define, govern, and execute migration patterns (rehost, replatform, modernize) while managing downtime planning and translating technical assessments into execution plans.
- Drive the selection and architectural oversight of native and third-party migration tools for VMs, applications, databases, and containers (e.g., GCP Migration Center, M2VM, HCX).
