What you'll do

• Perform independently and become a subject matter expert (SME).

• Maintain and enhance existing software applications to improve performance and reliability.
• Document software designs, processes and updates to ensure clear communication within the team.
• Assist junior team members by sharing knowledge and providing guidance to support their professional growth.

What you'll need

• Proficiency in COBOL.
• Minimum 3 years of experience in COBOL.
• 15 years of full-time education.
• Strong understanding of the software development life cycle and agile methodologies.
• Ability to analyze and troubleshoot complex software issues effectively.
• Experience in writing clean, maintainable and efficient code.
• Familiarity with integrating software components and third-party programs.

Nice to have

• Experience with IBM CICS.
