Overview
Lead energy procurement and energy-market strategy to secure power capacity and accelerate energy delivery for Anthropic’s expanding AI compute footprint across Australia.
- Develop energy deployment approaches to reach fastest energization timelines while maintaining social license.
- Lead energy procurement and markets strategy to secure multi-hundred megawatt power capacity for AI infrastructure.
- Manage utility and regulatory stakeholders across multiple Australian jurisdictions to accelerate connection timelines.
- Drive energy markets and policy strategy for AI compute facilities, monitoring regulatory developments and engaging policymakers.
- Partner with engineering and delivery teams to translate grid constraints into actionable capacity acceleration strategies.
- Build market intelligence on regional power availability, transmission constraints, and connection queue dynamics to inform site selection and deployment.
- Structure commercial frameworks including PPAs, network arrangements, and behind-the-meter solutions to mitigate grid capacity risks.
What you’ll need
- 15+ years of experience in energy procurement, utility development, or power markets for large-scale infrastructure projects.
- Deep expertise in the NEM, WEM and/or NTEM, including network connection processes and transmission planning.
- Experience securing power capacity and navigating network connection agreements and offtake structures such as PPAs.
- Proficiency analyzing energy market dynamics, regulatory frameworks (NER and jurisdictional instruments), and grid constraints.
- Strong stakeholder management skills with experience building relationships with grid/utility stakeholders and regulators.
- Excellent communication skills to translate complex grid and regulatory dynamics for technical and non-technical audiences.

- Based in Australia.
- Hybrid policy: expected to be in an office at least 25% of the time.
