Data Consultant - Mumbai

Overview

Data Consultant on the Change the Bank (CTB) team, combining business analysis, data investigation and delivery responsibilities. The role investigates complex datasets, identifies data quality issues and control gaps, translates findings into business cases and recommendations, and drives delivery of resulting initiatives.

What you'll do

• Investigate large, unstructured datasets for trends, anomalies and data quality issues.
• Document data flows, lineage, business rules and critical data elements.
• Conduct root cause analysis on data, reconciliation and process issues.
• Define business cases, scope and delivery approach for data initiatives.
• Run cross-functional workshops to align stakeholders.
• Plan and execute user acceptance testing (UAT), including data validation and reconciliation.
• Manage scope, risks, dependencies and stakeholder communication.
• Participate in Agile ceremonies.

What you'll need

• Proven complex data, business analysis or transformation delivery experience in large organizations; financial services experience is preferred.
• Strong analytical and root-cause skills with messy datasets.
• Advanced Excel skills.
• Strong PowerPoint skills.
• Process mapping skills.
• Excellent stakeholder management across geographies and seniority levels.
• Ability to be a self-starter, work comfortably with ambiguity and work independently.
• Strong communication skills, including simplifying complex data for non-technical audiences.

Nice to have

• SQL, Python, Power BI, Tableau or Alteryx.
• Data governance, metadata, lineage or critical data element (CDE) frameworks.
• Fixed Income, Equity or Commodities product and trade lifecycle knowledge.
• Trading, Operations or Finance systems, reconciliations or controls experience.
• Global operating model or third-party vendor experience.
• Agile delivery or Design Thinking.
