Data Engineer III

Overview

Data Engineer III responsible for overseeing and delivering data pipelines, warehousing, and data architecture, including automation, reliability, and governance.

What you'll do

• Oversee technological choices and implementation of data pipelines and a data warehousing philosophy.
• Lead or serve as SME on cross-organizational data projects and automation of data value chain processes.
• Promote technical best practices and design maintainable, simple data architecture for downstream users.
• Mentor data team members in architecture and coding techniques.
• Design data pipelines using ETL tools, event-driven software, and streaming software.
• Ensure pipeline reliability and enforce data governance, security, and protection of customer information.
• Partner with product and engineering teams to design data models for downstream data maximization.

What you'll need

• Technical Bachelor’s/Master’s degree with 4+ years of experience in data engineering.
• Hands-on data engineering experience with Python and SQL.
• Working knowledge of Snowflake, Airflow, and dbt.
• Experience with data engineering tooling including Jira, git, buildkite, Terraform, and containers.
• Comfort with GCP suite (including Terraform, Kubernetes, and cloud functions mentioned in the text).
• Knowledge of ETL patterns, modern data warehousing ideas (data mesh/data vaulting), and data quality practices (test-driven design, data observability).
