Data Engineering Manager

Overview

Lead a small team of data engineers within Dyson's Data and Analytics group, providing hands-on technical leadership across the data domain.

What you'll do

• Define and execute data engineering strategy, shaping the vision and roadmap for data-driven initiatives across the organisation.
• Mentor and develop your team, driving delivery of robust, reliable data solutions that adhere to industry best practices.
• Collaborate with business stakeholders to prioritise projects and align data engineering initiatives with business objectives.
• Contribute to technical design reviews, offering constructive feedback and ensuring high standards throughout the delivery lifecycle.
• Design, build and optimise scalable data solutions for analytics.
• Establish and maintain efficient workflows and good practices across a global data engineering environment.
• Champion documentation standards and lead efforts to enhance data quality, reliability, data lineage and governance.

What you'll need

• 8+ years of relevant experience in data engineering or related fields.
• Demonstrated experience leading and mentoring data engineering teams.
• Proven ability to manage and deliver complex data engineering projects through all stages.
• Expertise in designing, developing and optimising data pipelines and solutions.
• Advanced proficiency in one or more programming languages (e.g., Python, SQL, DBT).
• Extensive experience with at least one major cloud platform (AWS, GCP, or Azure).
• Strong knowledge of CI/CD, DataOps and modern data engineering best practices.
• Advanced degree (Bachelor's, Master's, or PhD) in Computer Science, Information Technology, Engineering, or a related field.
