Director / Deputy Director, Design Management for GovTech’s Data Programme—leading design direction and interaction models for how government users discover, access, trust, and use data.

What you'll do

• Set programme direction for design management across the data ecosystem.
• Lead discovery to identify where agencies get stuck accessing, understanding, and acting on data.
• Define interaction models spanning UI, APIs, CLI, and AI-driven interfaces.
• Establish principles and patterns for how data is surfaced, trusted, and used in high-stakes environments.
• Influence programme thinking by shaping product, engineering, and policy on “what good looks like.”
• Drive adoption by treating usage and impact as design problems.

What you'll need

• 12+ years of experience with a track record at principal level.
• Experience shaping platforms, ecosystems, or systems-scale products in multi-stakeholder environments.
• Deep experience with data-heavy products (search, APIs, dashboards, or developer tooling).
• Technical fluency with APIs and data models to co-create with engineers.
• A portfolio demonstrating paradigm-level thinking and experience relevant to AI-native interactions.
