Director - Yield Architecture and Engineering

Overview

Director role for Qualcomm’s Yield Architecture and Engineering organization in Bangalore, leading a people-centered organization focused on Design for Yield, DFT partnership, silicon diagnostics, automation, and CAPA.

What you'll do

• Build and lead the Bangalore engineering organization, including culture, clarity, trust, accountability, and leadership development.
• Own talent systems for Bangalore: hiring, onboarding, retention, capability development, succession planning, and leadership bench strength.
• Establish and run the Bangalore charter across Design for Yield, DFT, diagnostics, automation, and corrective/preventive action.
• Build reliable, scalable production-quality scan and memory diagnostics capability across the product portfolio.
• Develop and transfer technical depth across diagnostics execution, methodology, Design for Yield, DFT collaboration, and automation.
• Drive operational excellence via governance mechanisms like reviews, metrics, decision rights, and escalation paths.
• Partner cross-functionally and globally, including collaboration with US technical leaders and related engineering organizations.

What you'll need

• Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Electrical/Electronics Engineering, Engineering, or related field with 8+ years of hardware engineering or related work experience.
• Or Master’s degree with 7+ years of hardware engineering or related work experience.
• Or PhD with 6+ years of hardware engineering or related work experience.
• Work experience includes areas such as ASIC design, DFT, silicon diagnostics, product engineering, test engineering, Design for Yield, validation, and integration.
