Overview
CrowdStrike is hiring an Engineer III for the Kubernetes Platform team, supporting global expansion of the Falcon platform. The role is the India-based coverage for Kubernetes environments running CrowdStrike services across its own data centers and public clouds.
What you'll do
- Independently operate and support large-scale Kubernetes clusters across custom data centers and public clouds (AWS, GCP, OCI), owning their availability, health, and lifecycle
- Serve as a primary responder for platform incidents during India hours, diagnosing complex node, networking, DNS, storage, and control-plane issues, driving them to resolution, and handing off cleanly across time zones
- Plan and execute cluster upgrades, add-on rollouts, and capacity changes end to end, including risk assessment, testing, and rollback planning
- Improve platform reliability by identifying recurring issues and technical debt, proposing fixes, and seeing them through
- Design, build, and improve monitoring, alerting, and dashboards with Prometheus, Thanos, Alertmanager, and Grafana so problems are caught before customers notice
- Develop automation and tooling in Go to eliminate toil, and contribute to Kubernetes controllers and operators used by the team
- Evaluate open-source tools and Kubernetes add-ons and help integrate them into existing workflows
- Use AI technologies to streamline operational workflows, accelerate troubleshooting, and improve decision-making
- Write design docs, runbooks, and post-incident reviews that are clear to engineers, on-call responders, and stakeholders
- Mentor Engineer I and II team members through pairing, code review, and design review, and take part in interviewing new team members
What you'll need
- 5+ years of experience in infrastructure, systems, or platform engineering
- 3+ years operating production Kubernetes clusters at scale
- Strong understanding of Kubernetes internals and operations: control plane (API server, etcd, scheduler), kubelet and container runtime, networking/CNI, DNS, storage, and upgrades
- Experience with Prometheus, Thanos, Alertmanager, and Grafana
- Proficiency in Go
- Experience with large-scale, business-critical Linux environments
- Experience operating in at least one public cloud (AWS, GCP, or OCI) and in on-premises or custom data centers
- Experience with infrastructure as code and deployment tooling (e.g., Terraform, Ansible, Helm, GitOps) and version control with git
- Familiarity with and ability to manage on-call shifts aligned to India business hours
- Demonstrated experience using AI technologies to enhance decision-making, streamline workflows and processes, and improve efficiency
- Proven experience utilizing AI technologies to enhance decision-making, streamline workflows and processes, improve efficiency and drive business outcomes
- Bachelor's degree in an applicable field, such as CS, CIS, or Engineering
