Overview
Engineer Production responsible for developing, implementing, and maintaining manufacturing methods, operation sequences, and processes for parts, components, sub-assemblies, and final assemblies.
What you'll do
- Develop, implement, and maintain methods, operation sequences, and processes in the fabrication of parts, components, sub-assemblies, and final assemblies.
- Interface with engineering to coordinate the release of new products.
- Estimate manufacturing cost, determine time standards, and recommend tooling and process requirements for new or existing product lines.
- Maintain records and reporting systems for coordination of manufacturing operations.
- Conduct small group meetings and quality circle activities to improve productivity and cross-functional communication.
- Drive continuous improvement initiatives for quality, productivity, cost reduction, and waste elimination.
- Ensure effective utilization of manpower, machines, and materials.
- Lead training and skill enhancement programs, and maintain training records and skill matrices.
- Meet manufacturing key performance indicators, including production compliance, yield variance, material usage variance, labor hours recovery, cycle time, OQM, and inventory management.
- Supervise and develop personnel to ensure intended processes and operations are managed efficiently.
- Promote and encourage open and transparent communication on the shop floor.
- Share and communicate shop-floor performance and concern areas to operators in small group meetings.
- Optimize manpower, machine utilization, and material consumption to achieve operational targets.
- Analyze production performance, identify bottlenecks, and implement corrective and preventive actions.
- Provide support in resolving customer complaints or issues.
- Initiate motivational programs and other engagement activities for operators.
- Adhere to company policies, discipline, rules, and regulations.
- Proactively participate in various meetings.
- Present data and analysis effectively.
- Provide accurate and timely updates on various commitments.
- Develop and practice verbal and written professional communication skills.
- Develop and maintain professional and cordial relationships with superiors, peers, and subordinates.
- Participate in 5S drives.
- Follow procedures as per ISO 9k, 14k, and 45k standards.
- Drive cost reduction, waste elimination, and productivity improvement projects.
- Identify and resolve production issues to minimize downtime and improve efficiency.
- Drive continuous improvement and cost reduction projects using Lean, Kaizen, and 5S.
- Lead root cause analysis and implementation of corrective actions for production and quality issues.
- Support capacity expansion, automation, and new product introduction projects.
- Ensure timely execution of production plans while maintaining inventory and customer delivery commitments.
What you'll need
- 4+ years of experience in production/manufacturing.
- Verbal and written professional communication skills.
- Ability to present data and analysis effectively.
- Ability to follow procedures as per ISO 9k, 14k, and 45k standards.
- Ability to drive cost reduction, waste elimination, and productivity improvement projects.
- Ability to identify and resolve production issues.
