Engineering Manager, Judiciary (IPOS)

Overview

Engineering Manager (Judiciary / IPOS) to lead software engineering squads building applications for businesses, citizens, and intellectual property professionals for easier filing and examination of intellectual property.

What you'll do

• Define the team’s engineering vision, strategy, and directions aligned to organizational goals.
• Partner with stakeholders to prioritize and manage product roadmaps incrementally and efficiently.
• Create and maintain long-term technical plans and update roadmaps for future needs.
• Engage with engineers on performance, professional growth, and provide feedback, mentoring, and guidance.
• Develop quality, reliability, and security strategies with cross-functional partners.
• Initiate engineering initiatives to maximize public-good impact.
• Establish practices and tools to strengthen engineering culture and effectiveness.

What you'll need

• Minimum 5+ years’ experience on large, high-availability software systems operating at scale.
• Experience with modern full-stack web application technologies.
• Preferred front-end experience: Next.js/React.js; backend experience: Java/TypeScript.
• 3+ years’ experience coaching developers.
• Strong mastery of Agile/Scrum with experience implementing and optimizing across teams.
• Proven experience implementing incident management, L3 support, and system reliability practices.
• Exceptional ability to communicate complex technical concepts to non-technical stakeholders.
