Front-End Engineer III

Overview

Front-End Engineer III responsible for building and maintaining secure, consistent sign-in, registration, and account-access experiences across Expedia Group brands. The role focuses on scalable web interfaces, client-side architecture, and end-to-end delivery of user-facing features.

What you'll do

• Design and implement user interfaces and interaction patterns across devices and product surfaces.
• Build scalable client-side architecture using component composition, state management, routing, and API integrations.
• Collaborate with designers, product managers, and backend engineers to deliver testable UX improvements.
• Apply automated testing, code reviews, performance optimization, secure coding, and observability.
• Contribute to shared UI component libraries, design systems, and development tooling.
• Integrate and operate AI/ML-enabled solutions that improve user experience and personalization.

What you'll need

• 5+ years of relevant professional experience.
• Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science or a related technical field, or equivalent professional experience.
• Production web application experience with React.js, JavaScript/TypeScript, HTML, and CSS.
• Experience integrating RESTful or GraphQL APIs.
• Experience owning user-facing web features through design, implementation, testing, deployment, and support.
• Front-end system design experience covering component design, API consumption, and client-side data management.

Nice to have

• Experience scaling React architectures through state management, performance tuning, and modularization.
• Experience with shared UI libraries, design systems, accessibility, localization, and responsive design.
• Experience using experimentation and analytics to improve customer-facing experiences.
• Experience with AI-augmented developer or UX workflows and AI/ML-enabled web capabilities.
