GCP Platform Engineer

Overview

GCP Platform Engineer for Capco’s data platform team in Pune. Build, manage, and automate Google Cloud Platform infrastructure for large-scale data engineering projects.

What you'll do

• Design, build, and maintain scalable, reliable GCP infrastructure using Infrastructure as Code (IaC), primarily with Terraform.
• Provision and manage core GCP services including VPC, IAM, GCS, BigQuery, Compute, CloudSQL, Dataflow, Dataproc, and Composer.
• Develop and maintain CI/CD pipelines for infrastructure deployment and automation.
• Implement and manage monitoring, logging, and alerting for platform health and performance.
• Collaborate with data engineers to understand infrastructure needs and provide support.
• Ensure security and compliance of the GCP environment using best practices and policies.

What you'll need

• Experience requirement: 9+ years.
• Required bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or related field, or equivalent practical experience.
• 3–5 years of hands-on experience with Google Cloud Platform (GCP).
• Proficiency in IaC using Terraform.
• Experience with scripting languages such as Python or Bash.
• Understanding of networking concepts including VPCs, subnets, and firewalls.
• Familiarity with CI/CD concepts and tools such as Google Cloud Build, Jenkins, or GitLab CI.

Nice to have

• GCP data engineering services experience (e.g., BigQuery, Compute, CloudSQL, Dataflow, Dataproc, Composer).
• GCP certification such as Associate Cloud Engineer or Professional Cloud DevOps Engineer.
• Experience with monitoring and logging tools like Google Cloud operations suite (formerly Stackdriver).
• Familiarity with Agile development methodologies.
