Infrastructure Operations Specialist (I)

Overview

Entry-level UNIX/Linux Server Operations Engineer (L1) for a global infrastructure environment focused on monitoring, incident handling, and basic troubleshooting.

What you'll do

• Monitor UNIX/Linux servers and infrastructure systems on a 24x7 basis.
• Act as first-line (L1) support to detect, log, and respond to alerts and incidents.
• Run initial incident bridge calls and coordinate with L2/L3 teams and vendors.
• Manage tickets through ServiceNow/ITSM and ensure SLA adherence.
• Perform basic troubleshooting for Linux/UNIX issues and escalate when required.
• Monitor system performance using tools such as AppDynamics and Splunk.
• Communicate with stakeholders during incidents and follow runbooks/SOPs.

What you'll need

• B.E./B.Tech/MCA degree.
• 1–3 years of experience in UNIX/Linux support, monitoring, or IT operations.
• Basic knowledge of UNIX/Linux (Linux, RedHat, SUSE, Solaris—any exposure).
• Understanding of ServiceNow or similar ticketing tools.
• Exposure to monitoring tools (AppDynamics preferred).
• Ability to respond to system alerts and reprioritize tasks.
• Good communication skills for a global environment.
