Integration Engineer

Overview

Integration Engineer for developing, validating, and optimizing next-generation Heat-Assisted Magnetic Recording (HAMR) HDD drives, taking features from prototype through manufacturing.

What you'll do

• Develop and validate new HDD features to improve performance, reliability, and capacity.
• Test hardware across bench, drive-level, and manufacturing environments.
• Analyze manufacturing and quality data to identify trends and optimize performance.
• Perform hardware failure analysis and investigate root causes with firmware engineers.
• Read and interpret C/C++ manufacturing test code to troubleshoot issues.
• Collaborate with Firmware, Servo, Manufacturing, and Media engineering teams.
• Contribute to patents and innovative technologies for future HDD products.

What you'll need

• Currently pursuing or recently completed a PhD in Physics, Materials Science, Electrical Engineering, Computer Science, or a related field.
• Programming experience in Python, R, and/or Matlab.
• Ability to read and understand C or C++ code.
• Analytical and problem-solving skills using large engineering datasets.
• Excellent collaboration, communication, and learning agility.

Nice to have

• Research in HAMR, magnetic recording, spintronics, magnetics, or storage technologies.
• Hands-on laboratory or hardware testing experience.
• Experience applying AI or machine learning to engineering data.
• Internship or co-op experience in hardware, semiconductor, or storage engineering.
• Publications or conference presentations related to your research.
