Intern - Retrofit Solution SB Designer

Overview

An internship within Airbus Retrofit Solutions, where you will support the design of Service Bulletin (SB) retrofit packages that maintain aircraft airworthiness and improve customer operations.

What you'll do

• Interpret and analyze design definitions and installation principles for aircraft mechanical and electrical systems.
• Collect and synthesize source documents, including TRS/MAS, design drawings, SB preparation files and 3D design datasets.
• Perform technical analysis by evaluating Pre-MOD vs. Post-MOD solutions.
• Define SB configuration for the applicable MSN(s).
• Determine aircraft access requirements.
• Calculate man-hour estimates for SB embodiment.
• Develop the List of Components (LOC), identifying Long Lead Items (LLI), wiring bundles and placard set(s).
• Coordinate the procurement of essential data, including Weight & Balance, Electrical Load Data, SB test and impacts on operational and maintenance manuals.
• Author Service Bulletins within SAMM-DACAS, defining accomplishment tasks and detailed installation/removal procedures.
• Analyze 3D source files to develop mock-ups and generate technical illustrations using the Tec-Draw tool.
• Perform self-checks to ensure full compliance with Airbus standards.
• Maintain interfaces with Engineering, Material Supply and Tech Data departments throughout the SB lifecycle.

What you'll need

• B.E/B.Tech in Mechanical/Aeronautical Engineering.
• Basic understanding of aircraft and aerodynamics.
• Ability to read and understand 3D models and engineering drawings.
• Good communication skills with proficiency in English.
• Proactive and willing to learn, collaborate and take ownership.
