Lead Infrastructure Engineer - India

Overview

Lead Infrastructure Engineer to own the Kubernetes-native foundation for Rojo’s new integration products, including cluster, IaC, secrets, identity, messaging, and observability in a greenfield setup.

What you'll do

• Own architecture and foundational infrastructure decisions end-to-end for the integration platform.
• Write Terraform and build modular infrastructure (e.g., network, cluster, IAM, tenant namespaces, addons).
• Configure and troubleshoot Kubernetes clusters, including debugging components such as Kafka brokers.
• Implement multi-tenant pillars such as namespace-per-tenant, default-deny network policies, and per-tenant identity/secrets realms.
• Design for hybrid/on-prem deployment with cloud control planes and on-prem or private-cloud environments.
• Build tenant-aware observability so spans, logs, and metrics are traceable per tenant across environments.

What you'll need

• 5+ years of experience owning production infrastructure end-to-end at a startup or scale-up.
• Strong Kubernetes expertise across managed K8s (EKS/GKE) and self-hosted/on-prem options (e.g., K3s, Rancher, OpenShift).
• Experience with hybrid networking and connectivity using secure cross-environment mechanisms (e.g., VPNs, mTLS, WireGuard).
• Terraform/IaC experience with modular design and remote state with locking/state-splitting for blast-radius control.
• Production Apache Kafka experience (ideally KRaft mode), including broker sizing and replication/AZ placement.
• Identity and secrets infrastructure experience using OIDC/RBAC identity providers and Kubernetes-native auth for secrets management (e.g., Keycloak and Vault).
• Practical CI/CD pipeline experience including build/push/deploy flows and secret scanning pre-commit hooks.
