Mechanical Project Engineer-I

Overview

Mechanical Project Engineer-I to support the design, development, and delivery of baggage handling systems, from concept through commissioning. The role covers layout/systems design, 3D/2D documentation, project coordination, and mechanical scope planning.

What you'll do

• Review and optimize system layouts during sales and engineering phases.
• Translate functional requirements into mechanical designs.
• Integrate safety, ergonomics, and accessibility into layouts.
• Coordinate interfaces with buildings, operators, equipment, and procurement.
• Create/manage 3D conveyor models and develop 2D drawings and documentation.
• Coordinate execution with steelwork, resale equipment, and building interface teams and support site activities.
• Estimate mechanical timelines, resources, and budgets; define work packages and track delivery.
• Initiate process/tooling improvements and mentor new engineers.

What you'll need

• Proficiency in AutoCAD for 3D modeling and 2D drafting.
• Knowledge of SolidWorks and REVIT.
• Familiarity with MS Office.
• Conveyor and mechanical system design expertise.
• Experience with layout planning and specification writing.
• Understanding of engineering processes and system integration across mechanical, electrical, and controls disciplines.
• Ability to coordinate with clients/suppliers and communicate technical concepts clearly.

Nice to have

• Bachelor’s degree in mechanical engineering or related field.
• Experience in baggage/logistics automation or material handling systems.
