Operations Specialist - Data & Quality

Overview

Operations Specialist – Data & Quality ensures data integrity, process compliance, and continuous improvement across greenhouse, field, and cage operations.

What you'll do

• Take data measurements on greenhouse, field, and cage operations (e.g., germination, pollination, pre-harvest, seed extraction).
• Act as a site quality ambassador to manage compliance with protocols, quality, and safety.
• Manage and complete process improvement projects and design and present trainings.
• Supervise and train third-party contract labor teams of up to 5 people to meet quality standards and performance metrics.
• Maintain detailed records of trial status and plant metrics while working with the operations team.
• Respond to on-site emergencies and weather-related challenges, including occasional weekend work as needed.
• Ensure compliance with safety protocols and stewardship practices.

What you'll need

• Ability to take measurements for greenhouse, field, and cage operations.
• Bachelor's or Associate's degree in Plant Breeding, Agribusiness, Agronomy, Biology, Horticulture, General Agriculture, or related field (or equivalent experience).
• Proficiency in MS Office Suite and database management.
• Strong organizational and planning skills to manage multiple priorities.
• Excellent communication skills; bilingual English/Spanish preferred.
• Demonstrated problem-solving abilities and attention to detail.
• Experience with, or ability to learn, specialized breeding management software and data collection tools.
