Performance Engineer - Performance Testing, JMeter, Load Runner, API Performance & Java/JVM

Overview

Performance Engineer responsible for designing and executing performance tests for enterprise applications and identifying bottlenecks across application, database, JVM, infrastructure, and network layers.

What you'll do

• Design and execute load, stress, endurance, scalability, and performance tests.
• Develop JMeter and API performance scripts, workload models, test data, and execution scenarios.
• Analyse performance across application, database, JVM, infrastructure, and network layers.
• Perform root-cause analysis using logs, monitoring tools, AWR/ASH reports, dumps, and GC logs.
• Prepare performance reports, dashboards, recommendations, and production-readiness assessments.
• Support capacity planning and identify automation opportunities for testing, monitoring, and reporting.
• Collaborate with development, QA, DBA, DevOps, and infrastructure teams to resolve issues.

What you'll need

• Bachelor’s degree in computer science, IT, or a related field.
• 1–3 years of experience in performance testing or performance engineering.
• Hands-on experience with JMeter and performance test scripting.
• Experience with REST/HTTP, JSON/XML, Postman, and API performance testing.
• Understanding of Java/JVM, heap, threads, garbage collection, and JVM tuning.
• Experience with Linux/Unix, shell scripting, SQL, and database performance analysis.
• Strong troubleshooting, root-cause analysis, analytical, and communication skills.

Nice to have

• Understanding of Kubernetes and containerized environments.
• Exposure to OCI or Azure.
• Experience with Grafana, Prometheus, InfluxDB, or equivalent monitoring tools.
