Principal Software Engineering Manager - AI Engineering (Position located in Bengaluru, India)

Overview

Principal Software Engineering Manager for AI Engineering, leading a full-stack AI engineering team that builds end-to-end data pipelines, models, services, and APIs.

What you'll do

• Lead hands-on with AI engineering practices while multiplying team delivery impact.
• Build, orchestrate, and deploy production-ready LLM/SLM/agentic architectures.
• Own the stack from data ingestion pipelines to consumer-facing APIs.
• Translate team priorities and goals into operational plans.
• Coordinate across product, research, and engineering to deliver end-to-end outcomes.
• Build, mentor, and grow the squad, including hiring and performance management.

What you'll need

• Have 10+ years across AI/Software/Data Engineering or ML.
• Have 2+ years directly leading engineers while staying hands-on.
• Deploy foundation models, RAG, fine-tuning, and agentic systems into production.
• Use Python and FastAPI/APIs for full-stack development.
• Work with distributed computing, serverless, and AWS (Bedrock/SageMaker).
• Lead across data pipelines and vector search/RAG, including model serving and MLOps.
• Have proven success hiring and mentoring IC talent across multiple disciplines.

Nice to have

• ML/DS depth including statistical modeling, NLP, Hugging Face, and ensembles.
• Exposure to cybersecurity, fraud, or adversarial domains.
