Overview
Senior individual contributor principal/technologist firmware engineer focused on end-to-end embedded stack development, from bare-metal firmware to RTOS and embedded Linux, with FPGA and host-side software integration.
What you'll do
- Architect, develop, debug, and optimize firmware and software across bare-metal, RTOS, and embedded Linux.
- Build and maintain BSPs, bootloaders, peripheral drivers, and hardware abstraction layers.
- Develop Linux kernel modules, device drivers, device-tree configurations, and root filesystem customization.
- Design, implement, and verify FPGA logic and debug firmware–FPGA interfaces.
- Develop host-side applications for device communication, data acquisition, test automation, calibration, and diagnostics.
- Lead board bring-up, system integration, and system-level debugging with lab tools.
- Provide architectural guidance, code reviews, and mentorship; establish standards and workflows.
What you'll need
- 8+ years of professional embedded software/firmware development experience.
- Deep proficiency in C/C++ for resource-constrained targets.
- Experience with at least one commercial or open-source RTOS.
- Demonstrated Linux kernel internals experience (driver development and kernel module programming).
- Hands-on Verilog or VHDL experience targeting Xilinx and/or Intel (Altera) platforms.
- Proven experience building PC-side applications for embedded device interaction and automated test frameworks.
- Expert use of JTAG/SWD debuggers and common lab instrumentation; proficiency with Git and CI/CD and build systems.
