Process Engineer

Overview

Process Engineer for Syngenta’s Production & Supply team at the Brits, South Africa site, supporting manufacturing excellence through process engineering, continuous improvement, and safe, efficient plant operations.

What you'll do

• Identify, design, and implement process improvements to enhance efficiency, quality, safety, and cost performance in formulation and F&P plants.
• Manage process engineering projects and liaise with design contractors following the standard project process.
• Drive value-adding process improvement initiatives to improve OEE, unit operating cost, reliability, safety, and environmental performance.
• Own the Management of Change (MOC) process to ensure plant changes are reviewed, approved, and implemented.
• Support process safety activities including MOC implementation & closure, process safety information upkeep, incident investigations, and process risk assessments.
• Provide day-to-day technical support to resolve operational issues and support OEE improvements on Formulation and Fill & Pack lines.
• Lead root cause analysis (RCA) for HSEQ deviations and facilitate process risk assessments/HAZOP.

What you'll need

• 2–5 years of experience in a manufacturing process environment.
• Hands-on experience in Continuous Improvement, data analysis, and unit operations.
• Bachelor’s degree in Chemical/Process Engineering or equivalent.
• Demonstrated leadership capability.
• Detailed knowledge of process technology, troubleshooting, and providing technical solutions.
• Project management and implementation experience.
• Practical and theoretical knowledge of chemical processes and manufacturing.

Nice to have

• Six Sigma and SAP knowledge (advantageous).
