Job description

Overview

Participate in flow cytometry projects through assay development, validation, and execution. Perform assays according to SOPs, support new procedure development and improve existing SOPs, and serve as a scientific resource to clients and internal teams.

What you'll do

  • Perform flow cytometry and other immune assays.
  • Design and perform experiments independently and accurately analyze and present data.
  • Deliver high-quality output and build efficiency into improving productivity metrics.
  • Assist in establishing and improving procedures and required SOP documentation.
  • Troubleshoot and correct routine scientific issues and problems.
  • Identify, update, and implement emerging laboratory techniques.
  • Maintain and support safe laboratory practices and environment.
  • Collaborate with other technical teams in resource sharing and providing technical expertise.
  • Support new equipment operational qualifications and performance checks.
  • Monitor Product and Service/R&D-related project expenses.
  • Act as a scientific resource externally to clients and internally.
  • Assist with writing, reviewing, and editing contract and grant applications and proposals as appropriate.
  • Assist with writing and publishing papers, abstracts, techniques, or chapters to maintain the scientific standard and image of the company.
  • Present completed work at appropriate scientific meetings and in publications.
  • Perform other duties as assigned.

What you'll need

  • Master’s Degree in life sciences or another relevant field.
  • 5 years of relevant laboratory experience.
  • Expert-level flow cytometry skills using both whole blood and isolated cells.
  • Demonstrated skills in monitoring cell-mediated immunity through flow cytometry, as well as ELISpot, ELISA, and MSD.
  • Excellent communication, interpersonal, and organizational skills.
  • Ability to organize and analyze data and prepare reports.
  • Strong computational skills, preferably experienced with Word, Excel, PowerPoint, GraphPad Prism, Diva, and FlowJo.
  • Excellent use of judgment and discretion.
  • Ability to see and differentiate between colors on the full color spectrum.
  • Ability to lift and carry between 1–15 lbs.; ability to lift up to 50 lbs. overhead with assistance; frequently required to sit, grasp, and use right/left finger dexterity.
  • Ability to read, write, speak fluently, and comprehend the English language.

Nice to have

  • A solid understanding of current GLP or CAP/CLIA/ISO standards.
  • Demonstrated skills with assays used for immunophenotyping, such as primary cell-based assays, ELISpot, ELISA, and Mesoscale.
  • Experience with cell sorting techniques.

  • Location: Bangalore, Karnataka, India.
  • Extended work hours may occasionally be necessary to meet business demands.
  • May be exposed to a cold freezer environment with temperatures ranging between -20ºC and -196ºC.
