Senior Associate – Java Developer, Advisory

Overview

Senior Associate Java Developer in PwC's Advisory line of service (Data, Analytics & AI specialism), building and maintaining the firm's technology platforms in agile squads.

What you'll do

• Develop and maintain the firm's Technology platforms.
• Take ownership of the product vision and actively improve the product and platform.
• Design and implement business solutions in agile squads.
• Learn and embrace agile principles and ceremonies.
• Perform code reviews and give feedback to other developers.
• Contribute to test automation and continuous integration/continuous deployment.
• Actively participate in discussions and influence the design and architecture of technical solutions.
• Collaborate with other IT teams and stakeholders to ensure smooth end-to-end delivery.
• Learn next generation and relevant upcoming technologies for the job.
• Abide by Tech & Data Policies and Procedures and SDLC/PLC requirements.
• Embrace and become a flag bearer for the firm's culture and core values.

What you'll need

• Bachelor's or higher in Computer Science or a related field.
• 6+ years of hands-on experience with Core Java, Spring, Spring Boot, Hibernate, and JUnit.
• Ability to write optimized, efficient, and clean code.
• Strong Object-Oriented Programming and Design Pattern concepts, with practical experience applying them during development.
• Experience with Microservices development.
• Strong analytical and problem-solving skills; able to design and then implement solutions.
• Team player with a strong attitude and work ethics.
• Strong oral and written communication skills for working with global teams.
• Ability to write unit tests that exercise all major logic components of the code.
• Hands-on expertise implementing HTTP/HTTPS and REST interfaces and services.
• Hands-on experience with front end (HTML/CSS/Angular/React).
• Git/GitHub along with CI/CD pipelines.
• Relational database and SQL knowledge (DB2/PostgreSQL/Oracle/Azure SQL).
• Linux, Unix, and shell scripting.

Nice to have

• XML-based technologies.
• Unix OS, scripting, Python or Perl.
• Experience in development on other application types (web applications, batch, or streaming).
