Senior Data Engineer – Data Analytics & BI

Overview

Senior Data Engineer responsible for building and maintaining data infrastructure, ETL pipelines, self-service reporting, and analytics solutions. The role partners with stakeholders to deliver reliable dashboards and actionable business insights.

What you'll do

• Triage and prioritize people-data and ad hoc reporting requests.
• Build dashboards and visualizations that communicate actionable KPIs.
• Automate self-service reports and dashboards.
• Analyze data from multiple sources using SQL, Python, Tableau, VS Code, and Jupyter Notebook.
• Design, develop, and maintain scalable ETL/ELT pipelines.
• Audit data integrity and improve data-quality processes.
• Monitor operational issues as part of the on-call team.

What you'll need

• 8+ years of experience with SQL and large-scale relational or columnar databases.
• 5+ years of Python experience in data engineering, automation, and transformation.
• 8+ years creating reports, dashboards, and visualizations in Tableau or comparable tools.
• BA, BS, or MS in a data-focused field, or equivalent work experience.
• Experience with cloud data platforms such as AWS, Azure, or Google Cloud Platform.
• Experience with distributed technologies such as Spark or Hadoop.
• Strong communication and technical documentation skills.

Nice to have

• Experience with Apache Hive and Presto.
• Familiarity with machine learning algorithms and data science workflows.
• Experience with large-scale data migration projects.
• Mentoring experience with junior engineers and analysts.
• Familiarity with DevOps principles.
