Senior Engineer

Overview

Senior Engineer role on the Store Engineering Common Services team, responsible for maintaining and supporting Oracle Xstore, Retail and Merchandise environments across North American, Canadian and European divisions.

What you'll do

• Design, develop and deploy Xstore environments and provide Xstore engineering expertise for production support issues.
• Develop strong, meaningful relationships throughout the Product ARTs and TJX IT shared services.
• Own and drive configuration, development and implementation of Xstore POS work as needed.
• Work independently and within cross-functional project teams that span multiple time zones.
• Develop Xenvironment customizations.
• Perform Xstore POS code and data deployments.
• Support EOD processes and store opening processes for Xstore POS.
• Perform Xstore suite major upgrades.
• Integrate Oracle Xstore with MOM suite.
• Install, configure and troubleshoot complex clustered Oracle WebLogic and Web-Server environments.
• Perform performance analysis and tuning of Oracle Xstore Office application and database systems.
• Troubleshoot issues to resolution, specifically with Oracle Retail (Xstore) and Oracle Database.
• Review Java code, identify bugs during code reviews and work with product vendors.
• Perform health checks and proactive monitoring using Oracle Enterprise Manager/Grid Control and UNIX shell scripts.
• Maintain broad knowledge of DevOps tools and capabilities.
• Create and manage Disaster Recovery environments for business continuity.
• Adhere to business operational controls including Sarbanes-Oxley, PCI policies, security policies and supportability standards.
• Apply security patches released from time to time and interface with Oracle Support for technical issue resolution.
• Prepare production readiness documentation using Confluence for medium to high complexity implementations.

What you'll need

• Proven experience with the Xstore suite, including designing, configuring and managing large-scale retail environments.
• In-depth understanding of Xstore, Xenvironment and EFTLink.
• Strong experience with Oracle WebLogic, OHS and Oracle Database technology stack components.
• Strong Linux shell scripting and Python scripting skills for automation and tool development.
• Bachelor's degree in technology or information systems, or equivalent.
• 5+ years of Oracle Xstore suite experience.

Nice to have

• Development experience with Ansible, Splunk and AppD.
• Expert understanding of the Oracle Application Techstack, GoldenGate and Exadata.
• Expert understanding of Agile Framework (SAFe).
• Experience using JIRA and Confluence.
• Development experience with Azure, Groovy and Maven.
