Senior Engineer, Platform Engineering

Overview

Senior Engineer on the TechOps team within the FRA & DVI business segment of S&P Global Market Intelligence, providing production and application support and maintaining high availability of cloud-hosted, business-critical applications.

What you'll do

• Deliver all aspects of production support for various applications and some third-party vendor products, including incident resolution or proactive mitigation, and change and problem management.
• Ensure compliance with all agreed SLAs and requirements.
• Manage and maintain cloud infrastructure.
• Coordinate all resources and stakeholders, plan and set milestones, assign responsibilities, and monitor, summarize and communicate progress and status.
• Mentor and develop junior members of the team.
• Act as SME and independently handle client issues and incident escalations.

What you'll need

• 7+ years of Application Support/TechOps experience.
• Knowledge of cloud technologies such as AWS, containerization, CI/CD, GitHub/GitLab, and cloud networking.
• Oracle and PL/SQL query skills.
• Linux/Unix shell scripting (or Python).
• Keen problem solver with an analytical nature.
• Open-minded, flexible and willing to adapt to changing situations.
• Ability to work flexible hours, including some weekends and possibly public holidays, to meet work demands and project deadlines.
• Excellent written and verbal communication in English, with the ability to represent complex technical issues to non-technical stakeholders.
