Senior Machine Learning Engineer, Ads

Overview

Design and build machine learning solutions for Roblox's performance advertising business, including ad ranking algorithms and personalized advertising experiences, on an early-stage ads platform.

What you'll do

• Drive the design and implementation of machine learning solutions for ad ranking algorithms.
• Design and implement large-scale recommendation models.
• Author specs for new features and improvements.
• Collaborate with other teams within Roblox to build products with a community-first approach.
• Balance researching new technologies with a practical approach to bring research efforts into Roblox products.
• Communicate with the industry and communities where applicable and act as an ambassador for Roblox.

What you'll need

• 5+ years of experience designing and building scalable machine learning solutions to solve real-world production use cases.
• A BS in Computer Science or a related discipline.
• Have initiated and facilitated challenging technical decisions across multiple teams and organizations.
• Start with the needs of the user, whether Roblox users or internal engineers.
• A creative and strategic approach to solving hard problems.
• Ability to simplify the complex and bring in fresh ideas from new places.

Nice to have

• Experience with transformer-based model training, inference, and product integration.
• Advanced degrees.

Details

• Location: San Mateo, CA, United States (headquarters).
• Onsite Tuesday, Wednesday, and Thursday, with optional presence on Monday and Friday (unless otherwise noted).
• Annual base salary range: $259,030 to $311,430 USD.
• Full-time employees are also eligible for equity compensation and benefits.
• For US-based roles only: the Company may not be able to employ candidates who have United States work authorization related to certain U.S. visa categories, or support future H-1B sponsorship at this time.
