Senior Manager Applied Science - Recommendations

Overview

Senior Manager Applied Science will lead Glance’s Commerce Intelligence vision and strategy, focused on multi-modal search and recommendation systems for personalization.

What you'll do

• Define the overall vision for commerce intelligence and up-level internal use of machine learning.
• Provide technical leadership across architecture, ML approaches, performance monitoring, and production deployments.
• Manage and mentor a team of machine learning engineers and big data specialists.
• Partner with business and product teams to predict system behavior, establish metrics, and improve debugging.
• Ensure data quality and integrity within products and team workflows.
• Conceive, plan, and prioritize data projects, including data mining and collection from unstructured/siloed data.
• Drive model implementation into production through engineering teams.

What you'll need

• PhD or Master’s in a quantitative field, or a bachelor’s with additional experience.
• 10+ years of ML-related industry experience on large-scale recommendation systems or personalization.
• 3+ years in a leadership role.
• Comfort with programming and statistical platforms including Tensorflow, PyTorch, and scikit-learn.
• Comfort with distributed training technologies such as Apache Spark, RAPIDS, or dask.
• Experience with an MLOps stack such as kubeflow, mlflow, or cloud counterparts.
