Senior Software Engineer 1 (Java Fullstack)

Overview

Senior Software Engineer role on ModMed's Platform Engineering team, acting as a technical anchor for the India-based team and leading development of integration services for healthcare interoperability.

What you'll do

• Design, develop, and maintain high-impact software systems, ensuring they meet both business goals and technical excellence.
• Drive deliverables that meet functional and non-functional criteria; proactively pivot and lead changes when outcomes aren't aligned.
• Partner with senior engineers and cross-functional teams across different geographies to ensure a unified technical strategy.
• Identify and implement best practices, efficient operational processes, and technical solutions that raise the bar for the entire engineering org.
• Foster a culture of continuous improvement through insightful design and code reviews, and by providing dedicated coaching to junior engineers.

What you'll need

• Bachelor's or Master's degree in Computer Science or a related field.
• 6+ years of software development experience, with a proven track record of technical leadership.
• Exceptional skills in Java, Angular, Spring Boot, SQL, and RESTful services.
• Hands-on experience with public cloud services, preferably AWS.
• Exceptional ability to collaborate across functional lines and with global, cross-geo teams.

Nice to have

• Experience with Healthcare Interoperability standards like HL7 or FHIR.
• Experience spanning backend, frontend, and operations (DevOps).
