Overview

Senior Studio Software Engineer for Roblox Studio Platform, contributing to the evolution of Roblox Studio, the primary IDE for building massive multiplayer online games on the Roblox platform.

What you'll do

• Design and execute the technical direction to drive the future extensibility and adaptability of the application.
• Own and deliver complex technical projects from the initial spark of an idea through full execution.
• Work cross-functionally across teams and platforms to solve systemic challenges.
• Mentor team members, fostering a culture of high-level technical expertise and professional growth.
• Implement strategies and patterns that define the next generation of professional game development tools.
• Architect application frameworks, windowing systems, and code generation.
• Pioneer scalable systems that extend to complex, agentic use cases.
• Drive OS integration, extensibility, and customizability at the deepest levels.
• Engineer the central backend infrastructure to power a consistent, high-performance UX.
• Collaborate with UX designers to translate Studio into a modern, consistent design language.

What you'll need

• 5+ years of experience developing and deploying top-tier, user-facing applications.
• Bachelor's degree in Computer Science or equivalent experience.
• 2+ years of deep experience with C++.

Nice to have

• Experience with UI frameworks like React, SwiftUI, Cocoa, Swift, or WPF.

Details

• Location: San Mateo, CA, United States (headquarters).
• Onsite Tuesday, Wednesday, and Thursday, with optional presence on Monday and Friday.
• Annual base salary range: $196,750 to $243,290 USD.
• Full-time employees are also eligible for equity compensation and benefits.
• For US based roles only: the Company may not be able to employ candidates who have United States work authorization related to certain U.S. visa categories, or support future H-1B sponsorship at this time.
