Senior / Software Engineer (Developer Productivity Platforms), Core Engineering Products

Overview

Design, build, and operate Whole-of-Government developer productivity platform components that are secure, scalable, and optimized for developer experience and operations.

What you'll do

• Architect, implement, and run platform components across GitLab CI/CD, AWS, Kubernetes (EKS), and Terraform.
• Build reliable, scalable, and secure services supporting runtime platforms (CStack, Airbase).
• Improve platform performance, cost efficiency, and operational robustness.
• Develop automated workflows, tooling, and self-service capabilities to speed up tenant application deployment.
• Implement observability with logs, metrics, traces, alerts aligned to the Four Golden Signals.
• Participate in on-call rotations, respond to incidents, and drive post-incident follow-ups to reduce MTTR.
• Embed security and compliance through secure defaults, policy enforcement, and vulnerability scanning.

What you'll need

• Degree or diploma in Computer Science, Engineering, or relevant experience.
• Proven experience as a DevOps/Platform/SRE engineer in cloud-native environments.
• Strong understanding of AWS, Kubernetes (especially EKS), container orchestration, and cloud operations.
• Proficiency with IaC tools (Terraform preferred) and AWS integrations (e.g., Load Balancers, Secrets Manager).
• Hands-on experience with Kubernetes tooling: Helm, Kustomize, kubectl, and ecosystem APIs.
• Good software engineering fundamentals; ability to write production-grade code in Go, TypeScript, or Python.
• Experience with observability systems (Prometheus, Grafana, ELK/Elastic Stack) and SLO design.
