Overview
Senior Software Engineer to lead design, architecture, and development of native Windows desktop applications.
What you'll do
- Lead design, architecture, and development of native Windows desktop applications.
- Define and enforce best practices for Windows desktop development across the codebase.
- Integrate and validate accessibility support for Windows users.
- Collaborate with product designers, UX researchers, and QA to shape Windows feature planning and roadmap.
- Own the full feature lifecycle from conception through release and maintenance.
- Identify and resolve complex bugs, performance issues, memory leaks, rendering problems, and compatibility issues.
What you'll need
- 3+ years developing Windows desktop applications using Windows App SDK, WinUI (or similar), C#, and XAML.
- Experience with native Windows code (C++ and/or Win32/WinRT/COM) is desired.
- Deep understanding of Windows application architecture, including interop between managed (.NET) and native code.
- Track record shipping production-quality desktop applications emphasizing reliability and performance.
- Strong experience with Windows accessibility APIs (e.g., Microsoft UI Automation or similar).
- Strong software engineering fundamentals including OOP, design patterns, memory management, and asynchronous/multi-threading.
Nice to have
- Experience writing automated UI tests (unit, integration, and UI automation tests) and familiarity with testing frameworks.
- Experience with performance optimization for desktop apps, including high-DPI support and startup time.
- Experience with localization/globalization including right-to-left UI support and internationalization.
- Familiarity with telemetry, analytics, crash reporting, logging, and error monitoring.
