Job Description

Overview

Work on optimizing high-performance positioning controllers and developing real-time servo firmware for enterprise-class hard disk drives.

What you'll do

Optimize positioning controller performance and robustness.
Develop real-time servo firmware for enterprise-class HDDs.
Architect servo systems that compensate for vibration, shock, voltage, and temperature.
Research, design, develop, and maintain characterization and qualification tools/equipment.
Provide failure analysis support for integration, manufacturing, and reliability testing.
Collaborate to improve designs to enhance robustness and minimize failures.
Evaluate advanced technologies via simulation and prototyping.

What you'll need

Currently pursuing or recently completed an MS or PhD in EE or ME.
Experience with servo-controller design for mechanical dynamic systems.
Familiarity with feedback and feedforward design tradeoffs.
Experience with Matlab.
Coding experience with C/C++.
Demonstrated strong problem solving and initiative.
Excellent global communication skills.
