Software Engineer

Overview

Software Engineer for Edge & Digital Solutions in ABB’s Industrial Automation Digital Organization, developing and enhancing software applications and edge-based solutions for industrial automation platforms.

What you'll do

• Develop and maintain applications using .NET, C#, and Angular across front-end and back-end layers.
• Design and develop REST APIs and backend services for enterprise applications.
• Contribute to Edge and Industrial IoT solutions using MQTT, AMQP, HTTP, and Modbus protocols.
• Support telemetry data processing and edge-to-cloud integrations in industrial environments.
• Develop and support microservices-based applications using Docker and Kubernetes/OpenShift.
• Work with CI/CD pipelines using Azure DevOps, GitHub Actions, or Jenkins.
• Participate in Agile ceremonies, code reviews, troubleshooting, and continuous improvement.

What you'll need

• 3–5 years of professional software development experience with full-stack development exposure.
• BE/BTech in Computer Science, Information Technology, Engineering, or related field.
• Strong knowledge of .NET/.NET Core, C#, and REST API development.
• Familiarity with microservices architecture, Kubernetes, Docker, SQL databases, and CI/CD concepts.
• Knowledge of MQTT, AMQP, HTTP, or Modbus communication protocols is advantageous.
• Ability to work independently in Agile teams with strong collaboration and communication skills.

Nice to have

• Exposure to Edge Computing, Industrial IoT, or industrial automation solutions.
• Experience with AI-assisted coding tools such as GitHub Copilot.
