Software Engineer, Agents

Overview

Glean is looking for product engineers to help build the future of AI Agents at work, working across product, AI, and platform to help users build, evaluate, self-improve, deploy, and operate powerful agents inside Glean.

What you'll do

• Build end-to-end product experiences that help users create and configure AI agents for real work.
• Design and ship workflows that help users evaluate agent quality, inspect results, and understand failure modes.
• Build product loops that help agents improve over time through feedback, evals, optimization, and self-improvement primitives.
• Help users deploy and operate both auto-mode agents and more independent agents with the right guardrails, controls, and visibility.
• Work across frontend, backend, prompting, harness behaviour, infrastructure and product systems to turn agent capabilities into polished user experiences.
• Partner closely with design, product, research, and go-to-market teams to identify high-value agent use cases and make them successful in practice.
• Balance product ambition with engineering rigor, making thoughtful tradeoffs across quality, latency, trust, and cost.

What you'll need

• BA/BS in computer science, or related degree.
• Minimum 6+ years of experience building product software.
• Strong coding skills in languages such as Go, Python, Java or Typescript, with an emphasis on building reliable, well-tested systems.
• Strong product sense and comfort working across both user-facing experiences and backend systems.

Nice to have

• Experience building AI, agentic, workflow, automation, or developer-product experiences.
• Leadership skills and past management experience.
