Overview
Software Engineer for GovTech’s Experimental Systems and Technology Lab to build and maintain the next-generation Student Learning Space (SLS) platform for Singapore’s Ministry of Education.
What you'll do
- Design, develop, and maintain scalable software modules for SLS.
- Write clean, testable, efficient code following engineering standards.
- Collaborate with Product Managers, UX Designers, and Education Officers to deliver digital experiences for pedagogical needs.
- Contribute to system architecture discussions and technical decision-making.
- Conduct code reviews and mentor junior engineers.
- Support CI/CD pipelines and cloud-native deployments for reliability and security.
- Participate in agile ceremonies including sprint planning, estimations, and retrospectives.
What you'll need
- 3–5 years of professional software engineering experience, preferably full-stack.
- Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Computer Science, Software Engineering, or related field.
- Solid foundation in modern programming languages (Python, Node.js, Go) and frontend frameworks (React, Vue).
- Experience with cloud-native architectures (AWS, Azure, or GCP) and microservices.
- Familiarity with containerization (Docker, Kubernetes) and CI/CD tools.
- Strong analytical skills to troubleshoot complex system issues and optimize performance.
- Excellent communication skills for cross-functional collaboration.
