Software Engineering Senior Manager

Overview

Software Engineering Senior Manager at Wells Fargo responsible for leading and coaching engineering teams, ensuring delivery and security standards, and guiding technology strategy and escalations.

What you'll do

• Manage, coach, and develop teams of experienced engineers and engineering managers.
• Ensure adherence to Banking Platform Architecture and non-functional requirements with each release.
• Partner with architects and senior engineers on technology strategies, migration paths, and cloud readiness.
• Act as technical escalation partner for scrum masters and teams to resolve technology roadblocks.
• Conduct peer reviews, guide design, and uphold security, stability, and scalability.
• Lead or support delivery governance, security practices, and production stability improvements.

What you'll need

• 7+ years of software engineering experience.
• 3+ years of management or leadership experience.
• Experience managing multiple Agile teams comprising 15-25 engineers and technical leads.
• Deep expertise in Java 17/21, Spring Boot, REST APIs, microservices, and distributed systems.
• Experience architecting scalable, high-throughput event-driven applications using AWS and/or GCP.
• Hands-on experience with Kafka, Pub/Sub, Kinesis, or equivalent event-streaming platforms.
• Minimum 2+ years of hands-on experience with Python development.
