Sr. Software Engineer 1

Overview

Sr. Software Engineer (1) role supporting technology and software development in ABB’s ELSP Digital Agile Unit in Bangalore. You’ll help address R&D product/technology issues and contribute across the software lifecycle.

What you'll do

• Initiate and drive technology/software/product/solution development using technical expertise.
• Act as a first point of contact in R&D for in-depth product or technology-related issues.
• Perform software engineering tasks across software development, quality, testing, DevOps, cybersecurity, release, support, and maintenance.
• Contribute across the software development lifecycle from requirements through design, coding, testing, release, and maintenance/operations.
• Apply agile, iterative, and incremental software development practices.
• Bring automation to improve productivity across activities.
• Stay current with evolving software engineering technologies.

What you'll need

• Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Computer Science or Engineering.
• 8–10 years of experience designing and developing enterprise-level web applications.
• Advanced expertise in ReactJS and strong backend development with .NET Framework, .NET Core, and C#.
• Proven ability to design and develop modern, scalable, responsive web applications with front-end architecture/UI ownership.
• Hands-on experience with AI-specific capabilities including LLM integration, prompt engineering, AI orchestration, and AI agent design.
• Hands-on experience with ReactJS, Angular, HTML, CSS, JavaScript, and modern front-end frameworks, plus delivering at least two end-to-end applications as a full-stack developer.
• Experience with RESTful APIs and microservices, plus troubleshooting capability across modules, products, and systems.
• Hands-on experience with Azure cloud services.
