Staff Accountant - India Exchange

Overview

Staff Accountant for Coinbase’s Finance team, supporting day-to-day accounting for the India exchange entity and ensuring accurate reporting across global and local requirements.

What you'll do

• Own month-end and quarter-end close for the India exchange entity.
• Prepare financial statements for consolidated audits and local statutory reporting.
• Maintain parallel books under Ind AS and US GAAP with documented reconciliations.
• Coordinate with FP&A, Tax, Treasury, Payroll, and Source-to-Pay for regulatory filings and intercompany settlements.
• Support liquidity management and customer funds safeguarding procedures with Treasury.
• Improve accounting systems, processes, controls, and automation initiatives.
• Review and mentor junior team deliverables and keep process documentation up to date.

What you'll need

• Chartered Accountant (CA) or equivalent professional qualification.
• 3+ years of progressive accounting experience.
• Hands-on month-end/quarter-end close experience (journal entries, balance sheet reconciliations, financial statement prep).
• Expert knowledge of US GAAP and Ind AS (working familiarity with IFRS and SOX compliance).
• Experience with Indian regulatory frameworks (Companies Act, Income Tax Act, GST, FEMA) for regulatory filings.
• Hands-on enterprise ERP experience (NetSuite, SAP, or Oracle) and ability to manage cross-functional projects.
• Responsible use of generative AI with human oversight for business-ready outputs.
