Staff Software Engineer

Overview

Staff Software Engineer (Infrastructure) leading the strategy and execution of Crunchyroll’s Internal Developer Portal (IDP), including full-stack ownership and developer-focused workflows.

What you'll do

• Own the year-over-year technical strategy and roadmap for the Internal Developer Portal (IDP).
• Architect, build, and maintain full-stack IDP features for frontend and backend services.
• Design developer-centric UI workflows for tasks like service creation and dependency mapping.
• Implement measurement frameworks to track usage metrics and platform health.
• Partner with Engineering Operations and cross-functional teams to drive adoption of platform standards.
• Participate in on-call rotations to resolve operational issues and reduce toil.

What you'll need

• 12+ years of professional experience in high-scale production environments.
• Proficiency in TypeScript plus backend languages like Go or Python.
• Experience modeling data in relational (PostgreSQL/MySQL) and non-relational (DynamoDB) databases.
• Expertise in authentication/authorization frameworks such as OIDC and RBAC.
• Knowledge applying data sovereignty and privacy principles (e.g., GDPR) to platform architectures.
