Staff Software Engineer

Overview

Staff Software Engineer focused on backend infrastructure for Calix Cloud, enabling data collection, processing, analysis, correlation, and monitoring for in-home and access network ecosystems.

What you'll do

• Design, develop, and maintain backend infrastructure, workflows, and services.
• Build solutions for onboarding, partner integrations, and data collection at large scale.
• Analyze and correlate telemetry/data to generate insights for BSP user roles.
• Lead technical design to meet requirements for stability, reliability, scalability, and security.
• Drive engineering discussions across SDLC phases including design docs and peer reviews.
• Support QA by producing test plans and enabling test strategy and automation.
• Debug and resolve field issues as a customer-facing engineering role.

What you'll need

• 10+ years of hands-on software engineering delivering quality software releases.
• Ability to drive technical discussions across cross-functional teams.
• Strong implementation background in distributed design, data pipelines, and real-time/event-based solutions.
• Experience building microservices-based API/endpoint architectures.
• Experience with event-based/pub-sub workflows and data ingestion solutions.
• Proficiency with Kafka at scale (or similar) desired.
• Expert in Java.

• Location: India; flexible hybrid work model with work from Bangalore office for 20 days in a quarter.
